Galerie Patrick Seguin
Settled since 1989 in a gallery of three hundred square meters designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Galerie Patrick Seguin internationally promotes French creators such as Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier and Jean Royère. Today these designers are recognized as major contributors to the history of design in the twentieth century.
The gallery works strenuously to promote the demountable houses of Jean Prouvé and developed an editorial line of monographic books that accompany the exhibitions.
For its 10th participation at Design Miami/, Galerie Patrick Seguin presents for the first time a retrospective focused on “la chambre universitaire” (the dormitory room).
Indeed, the research for furnitures that combine economy, solidity and easy maintenance is an important part of the work of Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand and Le Corbusier.
Within the booth are rebuilt exactly as they were the three emblematic units/
/ the dormitory room of the Cité Universitaire, Nancy (1932) by Jean Prouvé,
/ the dormitory room of the Cité Universitaire, Antony (1956) by Jean Prouvé,
/ the dormitory room of the House of Brazil at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (1959)
by Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand
